Your Last Chance for the Club Tour - 2015 !!

The club has sent out a number of emails about the club tour which is booked from Saturday 27th June 2015 for 7 nights and returning on Saturday 4th July 2015. If you do want to join us then you must let us know by Sunday 2nd November.

Please note that you do need to be a fully paid up member if you want to book the holiday with us. Also, to secure your booking you must pay £30 deposit (per person) to the club now.

Once the club has paid the deposit and you later decide to attend then you will need to book directly with the hotel yourself www.hotel-heintz.lu/english and of course you risk not getting a room and/or at the price negotiated by the club.

Just heard from Roger Patterson (HDC Councillor) re motorcycle parking in Piries Place Horsham as follows:-

I am pleased to tell you that HDC has identified an area that could be used on the ground floor for motorcycle parking which should be large enough for about 10 spaces. The Council will arrange for the lines and signing to be done at the same time as the entrance/exit is replanned.
Best regards, Roger

Some nostalgic Jim Clarke moments in the Lotus Cortina at Crystal Palace. I have raced there many times as it was quite local but as you will see there is no run off, only railway sleepers and trees to stop you. It were dangerous without a doubt. but we were hard then and elf & safety didn't enter into anyone's minds.

I complained to Horsham District Council about the loss of 10 motorcycle parking bays in Piries Place Car Park Horsham.

For you information here is their response.....

"I have noted your comments regarding replacing the lost ten motor cycle parking bays. I can confirm that we will be monitoring the use of parking bay no 25 by motor cyclists. However if the surveys indicate that bay 25 is insufficient, we will then identify other parking bays to their suitability for motor cycle use."

and my reply....

"Bay 25 will only take THREE motorcycles and I know from my own experience that there were on average eight to ten motorcycles parked in the old location; indeed it was often full. Monitoring Bay 25 is pointless since many former motorcycle users of Piries Place have now given up on it due to the limited spaces and awkward location. Motorcycling is much more environmentally friendly than using a car to get into Horsham. My bike does 80 mpg and my car about 35. Surely HDC have an opportunity to promote the use of motorcycles rather than make it more difficult."

Looks like we're not wanted. Perhaps others should write.

The Magic Bank Account

Imagine that you had won the following *PRIZE* in a contest: Each morning your bank would deposit £86,400 in your private account for your use. However, this prize has rules:

The set of rules:

1. Everything that you didn't spend during each day would be taken away from you.

2. You may not simply transfer money into some other account.

3. You may only spend it.

4. Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another $86,400 for that day.

5. The bank can end the game without warning; at any time it can say, “Game Over!". It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.
-------------------------------------
What would you personally do?

You would buy anything and everything you wanted right? Not only for yourself, but for all the people you love and care for. Even for people you don't know, because you couldn't possibly spend it all on yourself, right?

You would try to spend every penny, and use it all, because you knew it would be replenished in the morning, right?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ACTUALLY, This GAME is REAL ...

Shocked ??? YES!

Each of us is already a winner of this *PRIZE*. We just can't seem to see it.
---------------------------------------
The PRIZE is *TIME*

1. Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds
as a gift of life.

2. And when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is Not credited to us.

3. What we haven't used up that day is forever lost.

4. Yesterday is forever gone.

5. Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time WITHOUT WARNING...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?
Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars. Think about it and remember to enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think.

So take care of yourself, be happy, love deeply and enjoy life!
Here's wishing you a wonderful and beautiful day. Start “spending”....
