The main club holiday in 2020 will be to the Spanish Pyrenees
It’s a long way off but this is just so that I can get an idea of how many people are interested so that I can have an idea of numbers for the hotel.
We are planning to go at the beginning of September 2020, probably week commencing the 5th, final date will be dependent on ferry crossings.
Brittany ferries will release dates and prices at the start July 2019.
I am planning a ten day stay in the Pyrenees. People are free to join us for part of the trip or extend their holiday if they wish. Barcelona is 172 miles from where we are staying.
The plan is to stay in the town of Ainsa, and stay at the Hotel Dos Rios.
I have stayed there about six or seven times on previous bike holidays. As a guide the Sept 2019 prices are £49 per night for a single or twin/double room. There is a secure underground car park for motorcycles at no additional charge.
Some people I have spoken to intend to ride all the way down, or get the ferry part way down France and ride the rest, I have used the ferry to Spain several times and I believe this to be a good option, as a guide the 2019 prices are bike and rider out £99-£146 and return £95-£167 depending on date and crossing. And cabins out 1-2 person £102-290 1-4 person £134-150 return 1-2 person £85-£265 1-4 person £115-130, the large price differences in the 1-2 person cabins reflects the different comfort levels available.
The ferry goes from Portsmouth to either Bilbao or Santander but these are only 65 miles apart, Bilbao is 212 miles from the hotel taking a nice route.
